WARM DECK ROOF CONSTRUCTION
REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT WITH AN EPDM RUBBER ROOFING MEMBRANE
Most new flat roof extensions are constructed using the warm roof construction method. It helps to avoid condensation in the roof structure by ensuring the deck is maintained at a suitable temperature.
The 18mm roof grade deck is fixed on top of the structural rafters and a vapour control layer is then placed on top of the deck. The insulation material is placed over the vapour control layer. An additional layer of 18mm deck is then placed on top of the insulation (some high-density insulation boards do not require the additional deck), which will prevent the insulation from being depressed by foot traffic. The EPDM rubber roof membrane is then installed using the contact adhesive onto the 18mm deck.
