CAN YOU INSTALL A RUBBER ROOF IN THE WINTER?
Although a flat rubber roof is the perfect roofing system that will protect any structure all year long, there are certain times when it cannot (shouldn’t) be installed. For an EPDM rubber roof to be installed correctly, water-based deck adhesive and contact bonding adhesive must be applied. Browse our range.
In colder temperatures, especially below freezing, the adhesives and primers will fail to bond the EPDM rubber membrane to the surface correctly.
It’s usually recommended that a rubber flat roof shouldn’t be installed in temperatures under 5°c. Always check the manufacturer’s recommendations before installing in colder conditions.
WHEN SHOULD I INSTALL A RUBBER ROOF?
To ensure the best results, install your rubber roof on a dry day that isn’t too cold. Always check the temperature first before applying the EPDM rubber.
Ensure that the surface is clear of any debris and that it isn’t wet.
A dry, smooth surface will protect your rubber roof for years to come.
We offer several roofing systems that can last more than 50 years, including the incredibly popular FlexiProof system.
