EPDM Rubber Roofing FAQ's
Although a flat rubber roof is the perfect roofing system that will protect any structure all-year long, there are certain times when it cannot (shouldn’t) be installed.
For an EPDM rubber roof to be installed correctly, water-based deck adhesive and contact bonding adhesive need to be applied. Browse our range.
In colder temperatures, especially below freezing, the adhesives and primers will fail to correctly bond the EPDM rubber membrane to the surface.
It’s usually recommended that a rubber flat roof shouldn’t be installed in temperatures under 5°c.
Before carrying out any installation in colder conditions, always check the manufacturers’ recommendation.
To make sure you get the best results, you should look to install your rubber roof on a dry day that isn’t too cold. Always check the temperature first before going ahead with the application of the EPDM rubber.
Make sure that the surface is clear from any debris and that it isn’t wet or damp too.
By having a dry, smooth surface, your rubber roof will be able to protect it for the years to come.
We offer a number of roofing systems that can last in excess of 50 years, including the incredibly popular Flexi Proof system.
